If you are sending out information that your subscribers consider to be valuable then by all means use this and keep them happy.
Please don't spam your customers. They will get mad and stop buying from you......
The module to the right is a signup form for a newsletter that I use very infrequently (almost never).
It uses MailChimp for the email service. I picked them because they are free up to 12,000 subscribers. You can use other email services though.
You should use a service for this because if you get enough spam complaints then every email sent from your domain can get listed as spam and you don't want that. If you use a service that will not happen.
Data shows that only about 5% of the email sent out through these things gets opened. So if all of those opened emails get read you can potentially reach a lot of people. To put this in perspective only about 1/2 of one percent of all physical mail campaigns gets a response as a national average. So if you can send out 10,000 emails and reach 500 people you are doing pretty well. Using the national average only 50 people will respond to a 10,000 piece physical mail marketing campaign.
Please keep in mind that the results of these things vary. It differs from industry to industry and firm to firm. Too many people just send out spam.
Please don't be one of those people.
