Having a great website is simply not enough.
If your website is listed on page 2, 10, or 103 the people who search for your product or service are not likely to buy from you.
The fact of the matter is that 80% of people do not look past page one of the search results when they are going to buy something.
34% to 43% of the traffic on that first page of results is going to the first organic result. About 11% to 18% goes to the second result. (results vary with search terms)
The fact of the matter is that it is very difficult to appear on page one of Google search results pages for any product or service. But the rewards for doing what is difficult can have a substantial impact on the bottom line on your income statement.
I can help you get your website higher in the search rankings. There are three approaches to this.
- SEO or "Search Engine Optimization": SEO is more than 90% off site though an improperly set up website will never rank well. This is building up your "reputation" online by gaining links and citations.
- SEM or "Search Engine Marketing": SEM is about buying advertisements on the right websites to drive traffic to your site. This method is also known as PPC or "Pay Per Click".
- SMM or "Social Media Marketing"" SMM is about having a very active presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social sharing sites to drive traffic to your business.
Usually a combination of these approaches works best, but every situation is unique.
