Do you need to control who see's what on your website?
For example if you are a news site and want only paid subscribers to see your content.
You work on a special event and need one visibility level for the general public, another for volunteers, and another for staff?
Do you want to keep your customers up to date with what is going on with the project you are doing for them but want to restrict access. So each customer will only be able to see the information about their own project.
If you are doing online billing you must use access control to allow each customer to only see their own bill and financial information.
It is kinda hard to illustrate this other than to show a login form.
